Today’s Scotsman reports on a study that found men’s attitudes toward work don’t change when they become fathers. So if you want a stay-at-home-dad, you better pre-select one prior to fertilisation.

Let’s not pretend that parenting is easy, OK? Life, work, marriage, money, and other people still have to be dealt with and those things, wow, they can bruise.
When life hurts, it’s probably a good idea to just sit and hug your baby for five minutes. I could use a good cuddle myself.

Iodine is a trace mineral. Added to table salt, iodine prevents goitre (thyroid) swelling and mental retardation as infants develop in the womb.
Whether we are getting enough iodine or not, is a question seldom asked in first world countries. It might be a mistake to ignore such a small, easily resolved issue.
