Baby’s 1st Easter Basket Ideas
Every year I celebrate just about every holiday known to man, okay not that many but loads. Some not recognized and other that are, above all my children will always have memories to life a lifetime. For Easter we even celebrate with the youngest in our family and yes he/she always gets a basket. However, before I state getting a basket for your infant/toddler, make sure everything in it is safe for your baby.
Easter Basket Ideas:
- Soft bunny
- My 1st baby doll
- Chunky plastic toys, like Winnie the Pooh Blocks
- trucks (baby ones such as Little Tykes)
- baby blanket (seasonal)
- 1st books (cardboard or cloth)
- ducky puppet
- bunny rattle
Things to Avoid:
- candy
- No hard items such as glass, ceramics, etc. (not unless you intend to put them up and not let baby touch them)
- skip the grass, this can choke a baby or animal for that matter

Chew toys would be most popular with our 5 month old this year. Lots and lots of chew toys.
Robeez shoes are also good ones.
As for things to avoid, those little plastic eggs are horrible for babies since they break into little pieces pretty easily.

Thank you so much, it didn’t even dawn on me that those little eggs could be. Yes, my older kids are constantly hiding them throughout the house too. Will be on the watchout this year. Thanks for the reminder Mike.

We’ve never really done a basket for our kids. I usually give them a gift of some sort though. In the past, I’ve given them dvds, toys, and clothes.
They do have Easter buckets/baskets though that they’ve used at egg hunts.
Wed night at church we used The Resurrection Eggs for a lesson and then used the Jelly Bean Poem to talk about the symbolism of the colors. Tomorrow we’re going to use our Dora egg kit to decorate some plastic eggs.

For The boy’s first Easter, his basket had two toys in it. This year he is getting books.
