Because It’s Good To Know We’re Lucky
According to this book, in 1870, the risk of an Englishwoman dying in childbirth was about 1 in 200. What do you think the statistical risk is today?
In the US and the UK its about 13 in 100 000, which is up from 12 in 2003 due to rising rates of both maternal obesity and Caesarean Sections.
