I’d Like to Blame the Comment Spammers
Dear Reader,
I would like to apologise for not posting yesterday. Especially with the Christmas program happening, I think I owe it to you to post at least once a day.
It had been a good day, a busy day and I had a lot of interesting ideas. So, once the kids were in bed I logged into out system and was ready to blog.
Unfortunately, our comment spam filter has been having a few bumps and I have had to actually scan the incidious little missives virus-ridden computers send out. They got to me, the disgusting little worms. They’ve got key words that contain everything I hate about humanity: violence toward others, humiliation and degredation.
I had to log off, get some sleep and now I am ready to go back to work. Someone, afterall, has to put something useful, positive and interesting on the Internet. And I am sure there must be more of us than of them.
Aren’t there?
Love,
Kate

Disgusting, isn’t it? And sad to think that someone’s legacy is that they spent their days finding more and more ways to get nasty spam comments into legitimate, encouraging, insightful, literate attempts at community and communication. Very sad.

I’d like to say I too hope there is more of us than them, but then there’s that universal minded part of me that says we are them, all being one and all. I suppose you’d prefer that I excluded you from the we in this instance?

Wenda- Yes, I would like to be excluded from groups promoting incest and rape scenes on the Internet.
