Is Waxing More Taxing?
It has often been said that the mix of hormones and extra moisture in the skin makes waxing more painful during pregnancy. Strangely enough, there isn’t a body of medical research into this fashionable topic.
Has anyone noticed that waxing still seems more painful while you’re nursing or is it just my pain wimp side emerging?

Well, I don’t know if hormones made waxing hurt more in pregnancy, because I didn’t start waxing til I was pregnant. And that’s b/c the hormones DID cause facial hair growth when I was pregnant. Oh, the joys. :)

Kerri, you poor, poor woman. My face is tingling in sympathy.

I got a wax the day before my wedding and it hurt so much I almost couldn’t finish. I mean HURT. Later I learned I was probably already a few days pregnant at that point. I’e always assumed that was why it was so painful.
I can’t say I got waxed after that while I was pregnant! Au contraire, I was totally au naturel!!

Jill,
I had my upper lip done in the sixth week and the skin was red for three weeks afterward.
Au naturel est formidable.
