No Latkas for Me
One of the things I miss most about Toronto is the parties. Between Hanukkah, Christmas and Chinese New Year, I often partied until the spring thaw at Easter. Alas, I now live in Germany where Christmas is wonderful and, on December 24th, it’s all over and people draw into themselves and their own families until spring. We’re social people, the kids and I. We get a bit lonely.

Just in time for the first night of Hanukkah, the All Holiday Cafe, a blog of festivities has launched. I wish they could send over a few latkas. And some of my Jewish friends. If they came, I’d buy each of them a present. Or eight even.

This time of year, I’m jealous that you live in Germany. I’m Pennsylvania Dutch (so, German), and I would love to be there for the authentic German Christmas food, music, etc…although my Grandma does a good job recreating everything over here!
