The Secret and My Success

by kate baggott on November 28th, 2007

You know, I’ve never considered myself to be a competitive person. But, since becoming involved with Project Blog, I’ve started to love seeing this image:

Yes, I won. It’s the second week in a row. I think I better calm down a bit. This competition is 12 weeks long and I should be pacing myself if I want to go the distance.

Plus, I have children who are starting to look a bit neglected because I’ve been blogging more promoting my role in the contest begging for votes for the past few days. When I sent my son to scrub his fingernails a few minutes ago, they were black and thick with dirt. Seriously, you could plant a garden under there. Hopefully, they haven’t been this dirty all week.

Besides, tomorrow we’re starting the first week of a two-week project for a secret prize (!) that both you and the competitors can win. I haven’t decided whether to go for a hat trick and play the game to the limit, or just lie low and see what happens. I am not sure I can take two weeks of suspense.

And, oh yeah, my job at this blog is not to be obsessed with winning a contest and glory. My job is to write about recovering from childbirth and associated issues. So, I better stop neglecting the post about how eating fruit and vegetables while you’re breastfeeding encourages your baby to eat fruit and vegetables as they grow up and start writing it!

But please come back tomorrow and see what I come up with for week three!
