Top Five Movies For New Mothers
Ok. While your hormones settle down, is no time to watch a tragic drama. Unless you’re looking to get the tears out once and for all. Instead, a light laugh is all you need. So, for your DVD and viewing pleasure, I present my top five movies for new mothers.
5. Muriel’s Wedding. Think about it. You may have a jelly belly. You may not have slept for more than a few hours in weeks. But, it could be worse. You could be dating instead.
4. Zoolander. In case you need help understanding why the new father can’t seem to change a diaper without being asked, the film will help you accept new ideas about male intelligence.
3. The Vicar of Dibley. OK, not a movie. It’s really an English TV show, but Dawn French is possibly the funniest, most compassionate actor in the world. Every new mother needs a little Dawn French.
2. Undercover Blues. Because family life is an action-adventure. Every day.
1. Love Actually. Every story is unique and all the characters look like real people. Not only that, but you can get a bit weepy without crying buckets before the film cheers you up again. It really is the most hormonally-confused film ever made.

We’ve occasionally/sporadically gotten The Vicar of Dibley on PBS. That show cracked me up! Wasn’t one of they young girls in it also in Notting Hill as Hugh’s sister, maybe? Anyway, that show is funny. I may have to see if we can get it from the library!

Kerri- Get it from the library! I think it’s one of the best comedies ever made.
You’re right, I do think one of the actresses was Hugh Grant’s sister in Notting Hill. I never made the connection before. Your mind is an amazing thing.

Depends, do you think I’m a well-adjusted, confident, sexy perfectionist whose home could be mistaken for Martha Stewart’s and whose professional success rivals that of Oprah? No? Okay then, nothing else. :D :D :D ;) (btw-I have no desire to have Martha’s home, and my professional drive is non-existent. Both of those facts are good by me! :D )

Great movie suggestions. In my opinion nothing beats a good romantic comedy when the hormones are having a field day with my emotions.
