Two Kidnap Pregnant Women Get Charged

Two women are facing charges with kidnapping Amanda Howard, a pregnant teen, in order to steal her baby. Yep, another case, but thankfully they didn’t gut her out. Lauren Gash, one of the two women pleaded guilty this past week and the other, Alisa Betts is waiting trial.

The plot was all done online of course, what crime isn’t these days. Amanda was restrained and assaulted at a motel down in Blue Springs. The two girls did plan on cutting Amanda’s unborn child from her womb. Such a sick world we live in today.

Lauren was known as being pregnant but no one knows for sure if she was at any point, just that she was spreading the word and then planned on raising the baby as her own.

KCTV5 Reports:

“All I know is that she told people that she was pregnant,” Stansell told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

Stansell said Gash registered at Babies “R” Us, held a baby shower and even wore maternity clothes. Just before the incident, she told relatives she that she had given birth to a boy.

In court, Gash admitted that she met Howard on MySpace, a social-networking Internet site. Stansell said she didn’t know if Gash had been trolling the site for potential victims.

According to police, Gash and Betts lured the unemployed and single Howard from her home by telling her they would drive her to get clothes for her baby. Along the way, Howard realized something was wrong and tried to use her cell phone but was assaulted with a type of pepper spray, police said.

For those wondering about Amanda, she did give birth two days after being saved by the police. She had a healthy baby boy who is now 11-months-old and is newly married and expecting a second child, a girl.
