Update on ebay Baby
I’m sure you are probably curious on what happened to the ebay baby I posted about yesterday. I was too and had to look it up. These kind of things make me sick to my stomach I don’t care if it was a joke or not, no one should be doing this.
Spokesperson Peter Hieber has commented on this matter and has let everyone know that the mother did do this as a joke. “We stopped the auction and closed the seller’s membership.”
ebay.com worked with the police the moment everyone was notified in order to find the seller’s address. Believe it or not there was actually no bidders for the first 2 1/2 hours that the ad was up. The parents are being investigated now for child-trafficking, which I think this definitely falls under.
Tanja, the 23-year-old mother of the baby has made a comment:
“It was only a joke. I just wanted to see if someone would make an offer. My husband and my brothers thought it would be funny.
“I would never give my Merlin away. On the contrary, if a buyer had made an offer I would have taken the advert down.
“They’ve taken my son to hospital. He will be under observation there and I’ve got to take psychiatric tests next week.”
Umm, yeah, can ya really blame them for taking your child? The good news is this was stopped and there are many people that have shown there disapproval of human-trafficking, joking or not.
