Visiting Mike’s Blog
Be a Good Dad is is written by Mike, who parents his twins and, along with Be a Good Mom naturally, is awaiting the arrival of his third child. Today, Mike started his series on parenting his little boy who happens to have autism. So far, the series is interesting, practical, informative, and personal, all things that make for a great blog posts. Plus, ever since I heard about Jenny McCarthy’s fourth book (and read Autism Vox’s thoughts on that subject), I’ve wanted to learn more about how real, i.e. non-celebrity parents deal with autism and all its implications.
And, you know, reading Mike’s post, I realized something important. They don’t deal with autism, they just parent the best way they know how. It isn’t ordinary. It isn’t exceptional. But it does give me renewed hope that the good parents in this world truly do outnumber the bad ones. Even if their blogs don’t get the most traffic.

Thanks for the mention Kate.
I didn’t know Jenny had a book coming out about her son’s autism. It will be interesting to hear what Jenny has to say when the book comes out.

Mike- According to what I’ve read about it, she is talking about potentially dangerous mercury-removal practices. Autism Vox has a lot more depth on the subject.

The little I’ve heard about her and her son makes it sound like she is looking into some of the more obscure treatments. But, she seems to take a pretty unique view on almost everything which seems to keep her popular.
