Wearing Your Baby
I remember when my first son was born, I had very little idea about anything dealing with babies. But it still felt like something that came natural. Back then I simply carried our little guy in my arms, carseat or stroller, which meant we were always lugging something around with us. Today though they have all types of baby wearing devices, some that you wear and your baby rides on the front of you, others use something that looks like a back pack and still some have what is called a sling. Now I have discovered all except for the one you wear on the front of you and enjoyed the time I had them closest to me. Do you have one? What’s your favorite way to travel with your baby?
a. carseat
b. stroller
c. backpack
d. sling
e. something else (what?)

I like the stroller the most but in crowded places I much prefer the backpack!

When my girls were real small the sling was nice. They were close and nice and warm, but it was a pain to put on and take off and if it was hot outside it would get really sweatty. But once they got bigger the stroller was a must.

My children are grown now, but looking back, I could wish that I might have carried them close to my heart in a sling.

I have a Baby Bjorn that my baby LOVES! But now she’s getting kinda heavy in it. We also have a fantastic stroller that we use, but we try to carry the baby instead of the babe AND a carseat or something.

I love holding my babies as much as I could; however, since that wasn’t the best for long distances, I’d have to go with stroller too. :)

My sons did not like the slings! We were told in Lamaze class that every baby would love them. Not true! I and they always enjoyed a stroller. Thanks, Cindi

I loved the sling, but they get heavy so fast I could only use our sling for a short time - it went too fast!

I use our stroller constantly for my baby son. I can’t wear the backpacks, slings, or front carriers because they bother my back.

I used to do the stroller, but haven’t touched in about 6 months. Now I use my backpack carrier everywhere. The Beco Butterfly is the best carrier ever.

my girls hated slings, my oldest liked the backpack, but my youngest screamed so it was our arms or the stroller it was

I did a combination of the stroller and the Snugli. The Snugli was great for activities when I needed my hands free. Thanks!

I prefer wearing when possible ( I love the Ergo baby carrier), but now that they are getting a bit bigger the stroller comes in handy!

I’m a nanny (and soon-to-be-mom), but I’ve found that slings are fantastic when the babies are really little, but strollers or backpacks become a must when six months and older. It seems that after they find more control of their bodies they don’t want to be constrained to a sling.

With my first 2 I didn’t know anything about the slings so I just always used the carseat or stroller, now w/the baby I think I would prefer some type of sling. I feel it would be easier especially trying to tote around a toddler as well.

The stroller is my favorite! I’m so use to being able to carry all of my junk around in it as well. It holds everything from the daiper bag to my purse, tissues and pop. Mine has a clock and temperature panel as well as a place to store money, my camera and tissues….It’s like my car!

I always used the carseat. My babies both slept so good in there, why disturb them. They sometimes even napped in their infant seats. Thanks for the great contest!

I prefer the sling. It’s feels great to “wear your baby” and have two free arms to get stuff done.

I liked using a sling for walking around inside but the stroller is very handy for holding bags if you are out for the day.

I used the stroller when he was not in my arms. He learned to hold on tight quickly.

Mine wasn’t exactly a backpack and not exactly a sling: it was some pack thing that worked in front of the body. Loved that thing!

A sling when they are small is very comforting. But the bigger they get… a stroller is a must!
