Your Diet Effects Your Baby
You’ve surely heard the old expression, “You are what you eat.” But have you heard that “What you eat makes your unborn baby smarter?”
Some people have always believed this due to those that will eat only healthy food while their baby is inside of them and then splurge on that chocolate, chocolate chip brownie sundae after birth. Why? They are afraid if they eat junk while pregnant they’ll lower their baby’s IQ by giving them nothing but junk. Instead they give them foods such as salad, broccoli, apples, etc.
Dr.Alan Greene, author of “Raising Baby Green,” believes whatever goes into your body when your pregnant will actually go into their brain. I can see why he believes this, in fact I believe it. Why else will a baby grow up to have certain likes and dislikes before they’ve ever tried something? He also believes that a baby that is breastfed will help boost their brain an d of course health.
What You Eat Counts
Dr. Greene suggests pregnant women to eat get enough of the following: Vitamin B6, iron, calcium and choline. If you are like me you probably had no clue what choline was so here’s an example: cauliflower, asparagus and your meat products like eggs, fish, nuts, etc. This helps in the very beginning of a pregnancy, unfortunately many moms have no clue they are even pregnant, but sometimes their body does and craves this stuff early on.
As you can see what you eat really does matter in making your baby healthy and smart. Even now that you may no longer be pregnant and instead nursing your baby. Everything you eat now goes into your milk, which is released into the mouth of your baby. Now that’s some food for thought.
What’s your thoughts on this? Do you believe everything you eat determines whether or not your baby will grow up to be smart or not? Or does it just give them that extra boost?

I agree with this, but my girl, Sarah, who is very smart, was built on a diet of Super Tacos and french fries from Jack in the Box. I had such horrible morning sickness, I could not eat anything else. Bay and I were talking about how sick I was back then just today. In fact, after I had her, I still felt sick for almost a month. I ate a lot better when I had the other kids and of course I feel her well now, but at that time, I was desperate to eat something and keep it down.
